COIR AS A GEOTEXTILES

Coir Geotextiles has high tensile strength, water absorption capabilities and ability to break up run off topsoil. Coir also promotes new vegetarian by absorbing water and by preventing the topsoil from drying out. Coir Geotextiles absorbs solar radiation just as natural soil unlike geosynthetic material. They provide good soil support for up to 5 years-enough time for natural vegetarian to take over. The heavier grades can be used o embankments on slopes with little or no vegetarian. Other application are ski slopes and as a bottom reinforcing material in watercourses. Natural degradation of coir is slower under water since microorganisms are usually less active.
